Reel Making Competition Theme: ശാസ്ത്രവും കപടശാസ്ത്രവും (Science and Pseudoscience)

ശാസ്ത്രീയമെന്ന വ്യാജേന സമൂഹത്തിൽ വ്യാപിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ആശയങ്ങൾ, വിശ്വാസങ്ങൾ, ഉത്പന്നങ്ങൾ, സേവനങ്ങൾ മുതലായവയുടെ അശാസ്ത്രീയത ആക്ഷേപഹാസ്യം പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്തി തുറന്നു കാട്ടുകയാണ് റീലുകളുടെ ചെയ്യേണ്ടത്.

Terms and Conditions

Submission Deadline: August 31, 2026
Result Announcement: September 15, 2026

1. Eligibility
  • Open to all members of the Malayalee community who are 15 years of age or above.
  • Participation allowed:
  • Individually, or
  • In teams of up to 3 members
  • Up to 3 entries per participant/team is permitted
2. Theme Guidelines
  • All entries must strictly follow the theme:
  • “ശാസ്ത്രവും കപടശാസ്ത്രവും (Science vs. Pseudoscience)”
  • Suggested approaches:
  • Myth vs fact comparisons
  • Debunking pseudoscience
  • Promoting critical thinking
  • Scientific awareness and evidence-based reasoning
  • Entries not relevant to the theme will be disqualified
3. Reel Requirements
  • Duration: 30–90 seconds
  • Format: Vertical (9:16 ratio preferred)
  • File type: MP4 / Instagram Reel format
  • Minimum resolution: 720p
  • Audio and visuals must be clear

5. Originality
  • All reels must be original creations
  • No plagiarism or duplication
  • Use of copyrighted material must be: Properly licensed, or Credited appropriately
6. Content Rules
Strictly prohibited:
  • Offensive, abusive, or misleading content
  • Promotion of pseudoscience as factual truth
  • Hate speech, discrimination, or harmful narratives
  • Vulgar or inappropriate language or visuals
⚠️ Participants must ensure:
  • Pseudoscience is critically examined and exposed, not promoted
  • Scientific claims are accurate and responsible
7. Judging Criteria
Entries will be evaluated based on:
  • Creativity & originality
  • Relevance to theme
  • Accuracy of scientific content
  • Clarity of message
  • Visual storytelling & impact
  • Artistic & technical quality
8. Intellectual Property
  • esSENSE Global retain ownership of all submissions
  • By submitting, participants grant permission to organizers to:
  • Alter, share, post, repost, and promote entries
  • Use content for educational or awareness purposes
9. Consent
  • Participants must obtain consent from anyone appearing in the reel
  • Organizers are not responsible for disputes regarding consent
10. Disqualification
Entries may be disqualified if:
  • Rules are violated
  • Content is inappropriate, misleading, or inaccurate
  • Fake engagement is detected
  • Submission is late
11. Prizes:
  • First Prize Rs.10,000
  • Second Prize Rs.7,500
  • Third Prize Rs. 5,000
  • esSENSE Global may announce additional prizes based on categories of submissions.
  • Judges’ decisions are final and binding
12. Organizer Rights
esSENSE Arts Club & esSENSE Students League reserve the right to:
  • Modify rules if necessary
  • Extend deadlines
  • Cancel/postpone the competition due to unforeseen circumstances
13. Scientific Responsibility Clause

Participants must ensure that all scientific claims made in the reel are accurate and evidence-based. Content that spreads misinformation under the guise of science will be disqualified.

14. Declaration
By submitting an entry, participants confirm:
  • The submission is original
  • The content adheres to all rules
  • They accept the final decision of the organizers
